Backtrack 5r2 KDE 64 Bit (Boot Issue)
When I Tried To Boot Backtrack 5r2 KDE 64bit, after installing I came up with an error, it was a hard time, identifying the error, but finally, I overcame it, and I will share how to fix, it might help saving some precious time, out of our busy life.
The Error appears when 'startx' command is initiated, to start the GUI interface.
CK_LINUX
The Error Is Something like:
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to X server
waiting for X server to shut down error setting MTRR ( ... )
Inappropriate ioctl for device(id)
dxSigGiveUp: Closing Log
The Fix:
CK_LINUX
You need to issue these commands to fix
# rm /root/.kde/cache-root/icon-cache.kcache
# rm /root/.kde/cache-root/plasme_theme_Volatile.kcache
# rm /root/.kde/cache-bt/icon-cache.kcache
# rm /root/.kde/cache-bt/plasme_theme_Volatile.kcache
# startx
Ck-Linux
And then It Loads The GUI Interface without any errors, Hope this helps to those who might face Problems Booting
Thanks
